Miss Colleen- Substitute Teacher
Colleen has wanted to teach as long as she's been in school. After earning her BA in Early Childhood Education from Notre Dame College of Ohio she taught preschool in a Reggio-Emilia inspired school in Cleveland, Ohio. After moving to Texas to escape the snow, she fell in love with the Montessori method of education and earned her Primary certification from the North American Montessori Center. Colleen taught Primary (ages 3-6) for a few years before learning that her true passion lay with Elementary aged children and she earned her Association Montessori Internationale Elementary certification. She spent many years teaching at a local Montessori school before her son was born in 2020. Colleen loves the approach to early childhood education that Honeybee Preschool takes and has seen the effects blossoming in her own son. She's very excited to be joining the staff as a substitute teacher. A former Pilates instructor, Colleen enjoys exercise, good books, and good food.
